Alpaca Couture at The Great Yorkshire 2008
The Toft Alpaca Shop was very proud to present a couture collection at the 2008 Great Yorkshire Show. The collection was displayed four times a day throughout the three day event, and watched by over 7,000 visitors. A Toft Alpaca outfit was sent to the central ring to meet Her Majesty the Queen.
This 2008 collection was dominated by our British made alpaca garments and accessories, and also featured some of our Peruvian designs. Our designs were well received, and our tradestand suffered frequent rampages from overzealous fashionistas desperate to get their hands on what they had just seen modelled. Despite going for the unconventional look of teaming the currently very fashionable knee high socks with our classically designed cardigans (and little in between), our outfits were admired by ladies through all generations. The models were styled by Kate Gilbert.
The star item of the show was our knee socks.
