Toft Alpacas invites local knitters to come and soak up the view of Draycote Water and make the most of the summer by joining other local craftspeople for a morning amongst the alpacas. Toft Alpacas will open the top field of the 'maternity' paddock and knitters can enjoy sitting amongst the alpacas, including this year's cria. This is a free event and knitters are welcome from 11am. Anyone wishing to bring a picnic is welcome to do so- but all rubbish must be taken away with you.
Kerry Bettinson 'We have loved meeting our local knitters over the past year, and know that you’re all dying to come and enjoy meeting this year's cria. We sheared the alpacas last week, and the fleeces are currently in the mill being spun up into the 2008 batches of knitting yarns.
We hope that this will be a chance for those who have knitted in alpaca to really get in touch with the producers- and for those who haven't it will be a perfect introduction.'
Please bring:
Knitters are free to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch while overlooking Draycote Water and the herd of alpacas. Bring blankets/chairs if required. Your cameras- there are currently ten cria (baby alpacas) on the ground, and a baby is due on 14th June!!!
The backup plan is:
If raining knitters can sit in the barn, or in the welcome area of the shop.
