Toft Alpacas Supreme Champions at the Kenilworth Show

03 June 2008

Toft Alpacas left the Kenilworth Show on Sunday burdened with rosettes following a fantastic prizewinning morning of alpaca showing. Toft Alpacas have been breeding for quality in alpacas for eleven years, and the hard efforts have come to fruition. Toft Alpacas left the show having been awarded the Supreme Champion awards in both breed types of alpaca: the Suri and Huacaya, and also a Best of British breeding prize. These are the highest awards to be given at British Alpaca Shows in the UK.

The Huacaya alpaca has a crimpy fleece giving the animals a ‘teddy bear’ appearance, whereas the Suri alpacas have a silky straight fleece that forms a ‘dreadlock’ appearance.
